Hourglass Quilt Completed

Can this be true?  Have I finally found the time to not only complete a few quilts but also take pictures of them???  It is true - here's proof #1 - Hourglass Quilt completed :)

hourGlass -multicolor

The fabrics are a collection of a few of my favorites from over the last few months. I wanted to keep the colors different but the feel to be a little on the modern side to match the pattern.

For the border I used a very small (and cute) hexagon print from the Quilt Blocks collection. I think the clean lines of it goes very well of the quilt top.

I wanted to keep the quilting clean and modern as well so I went with a straight stitch around every seam of the quilt. It's enough to give it nice cozy quilt feel but doesn't compromise the quilt top design.

I absolutely love making this quilt.  The hourglass pattern is great and very fun to work with.  I'm sure I'll be making more quilts that are inspired by this timeless pattern :).

I'm a lover of quilts. Your pattern is a charmer. It also resembles spools of threads. Love it!

Love this -- please tell me it is not paper pieced nor involves templates. I just want to sew! And use scraps.

Thanks, Jan

Oh I like it. I'm so impressed when ladies actually finish a quilt. So many projects stay in the project mode. I've been working on dresses lately. Next project is to help my daughters to learn to sew skirts.

Blessings from Harvest Lane Cottage!
