Fabric Love #22: Urban Zoologie

I have 2 young boys - 2.5 and 4.5 years old - and finding boy fabrics is not an easy task.  Fabrics are usually either too boring, too blue or just too...ordinary.  But lucky Anne Kelle has designed the cutest little boy fabrics I have seen in quite a while.

That Navy Blue dinosaur print is definitely going to a new blanket for my younger son - I owe that little cutie a toddler quilt since he's outgrown his little baby one.  I can't wait to start working on the new blanket!

I haven't decided on what to do with the other 2 fabrics yet, but I'm sure I'll get inspired soon :)  Got lots to do and lots to think about so I'll leave now with a glimpse of some other fabrics I just for the shop.

Have a great weekend everyone :)!

Fabric Love #21 & Fabric Giveaway: End of Summer

Are you ready to say good bye to summer? Pack the kids back into school? Say good-bye to lazy afternoons at the pool? I am :) - OK I'm biased. Did I ever mention Autumn is my favorite season? Love it. The slight chill in the air and cooler nights. The still warm days and chillier mornings. O - and the best part? The colors of course.

With signs of Autumn peaking up I am super happy to have these fabrics to celebrate it. Bold and beautiful fabrics from Alexander Henry:

Farmdale Orchard (tint/red)
Cookery Stripe (red)

The details on both these fabrics are fantastic. The apples have crisscross lines giving it a very rustic and natural feel. And the stripe fabric is absolutely gorgeous. The little floral designs (sorry the photo doesn't do it justice) is sooo...perfect.  Both fabrics - LOVE LOVE LOVE the colors.  I am have a dozen projects I want to do with these...

Do you know what else happens during this time of year? School. With all the kids returning to school, I can't help but to get a little sentimental and start thinking about how fast they grow up and I get a little ...mushy... when I see these two cuties:

Paper Dolls - Turquoise
Paper Dolls - Blush

I know it's the same design just different colors - but aren't they both so cute! They are from Studio E and I have no idea what I'm going to make with these yet, but I couldn't resist.   The little dollars and teddy bears are quite irresistible.

FABRIC GIVEAWAY
Lucky for you, I'm giving away 1/2 each of these Paper Dolls fabrics. So that's 1 combined yard of the Paper Dolls fabric for FREE. As usual, just leave a comment to this post and be a JAQS Studio Follower and/or subscriber.  The lucky random winner will be chosen Tuesday night (August 23, 2011 around 9PM PST). Good luck :)!

These fabrics could be found at my lovely little fabric shop - JAQS Fabrics:

Do you know how much I like the Heath fabrics from Alexander Henry?  Well this pink one from Riley Blake is so similar to them...but in PINK.  How great is that???
Farm Fresh Pink (C9007)

Fabric Love #18: Love My Boys

Due to the summer schedule I have had a chance to spend more times with my little boys - Asher (4.5) and Silas (2.5).  And it is wonderful :)  So this weeks' Fabric Love is dedicated to my little boys.

Sometimes they are silly and sometimes they are accident prone.  But always my Little Men.
Little Men

In the summer my little guys love the outdoors.  Helping with the garden (and eating straight from the garden :)), playing with their toy tractors and trucks.  Good times!
Little Farm from Alexander Henry

Little boys best friend - need I say more?
Boys Will Be Boys

As I look at my little ones I am constantly reminded of how fast they are growing up.  Soon Asher will be starting kindergarten.  Silas is loosing the last of his baby chubs.  They are starting to look like little boys instead of toddlers. :(
I'm Your Hero

But to me they will always be my little babies :)...always.
2-D Zoo from Alexander Henry

Treasure every moment - the good and the bad.  In the whole scheme of things, they are only this little for a short moment in time.  Love them, cherish them and hold them tight for as long as you can :).

Fabric Love #16 & Fabric GIVEAWAY: Gearing up For Holidays Already?

Holidays are always on my mind and this year is no different.  In the near future I'll be stocking up on Christmas and winter items, but now it is the Halloween fun fabrics :).  Usually I don't think too much about Halloween fabrics but this year a couple of fabrics from Riley Blake caught my eye.

Super cute little spiders, mummies, cat, bat, witch hat, etc etc.  Need to come up with a project for this pronto!  I LOVE the little vampire too - Is Halloween suppose to be this adorable? ;)

The black on this isn't a deep black - it's more of a ultra dark gray color...and you know how I feel about grays? :)  **hint: check out my blog banner ;)  I will definitely be saving some of these for my personal stash collection.

Boo To You also have a coordinating DOT collection.  This dot fabric is awesome - goes well with both the previous prints, but I think it's neutral enough to use with a lot of other projects that isn't so...Halloween:

So...on to this week's Fabric Giveaway.  Can you guess what it is? :)

Leave a comment for a chance to win all THREE of these fabrics (FAT quarters).  Comment must be posted by 9pm Pacific Time by Monday 6/20/2011.

Thanks!

Fabric Love #15: Lovely Browns

If you've seen any of my quilts - you know I have browns. Usually as shashing, but this year I want to incorporate it more into prints. So in anticipation of more brown prints in upcoming quilt designs I am dedicating this week's Fabric Love to LOVELY BROWNS.

Here's some from my fabric collection that would be lovely to add to future projects:

A playful twist to traditional circles.
This adds a nice modern twist to circular patterns.

I love the olive design on this fabric.
The colors gives it the fabric a nice retro feel.
I really enjoy the colors for this fabric.
The touch of blue and green is gorgeous.

I hope you enjoyed looking at these fabrics.  I have a few ideas in mind on what I'll make with these but nothing I could execute at this time - bah time constraints!  Don't you wish there were more hours in the day?  Seems like I am at maximum capacity for caffeine consumption these days :(.

Have a great weekend everyone!

A reminder that these lovely fabrics featured on JAQS Studio's Fabric Love are available at JAQS Fabric @ Etsy.

Fabric Love #14: Summertime

Almost summer but it's not too early for Summertime.  This is 3 fabrics from the Summertime collection by Barbara Jones for Henry Glass and Co:

237-tile
This beautiful red-coral background color with a beautiful floral.  This will add a nice pop of color in any project.

236-tile
Same great floral design but this time against a cool and relaxed blue color.  I would love to see this in a smaller project or in a quilt against other light colors.

235-tile
This is the same light blue as the previous fabric, but instead of floral it features playful series of squares-within-squares.   I love the design...maybe not in a quilt?  Not sure.

I really like the subtle white design on each of these gorgeous colors. It reminds me of a whimsical summer day with a light breeze.  I'm planning to use at least one of these in a summer quilt and others for some summer napkins.

Have a great weekend everyone!

As usual all of Fabric love fabrics are available at JAQS Fabrics on Etsy.
