Pinwheels Part 2 COMPLETE

Hello Pinwheels...again :). As a change from the last Pinwheel completed a little while back, I decided to quilt #2 a little differently:

Can you see what the difference is with the first one?

Let me give you a hint - look closely at the seams. It's the quilting :). The first quilt I made I did meandering freestyle all along the quilt. However, for #2 I decided to accentuate each pinwheel by quilting along each seam.

LOVE it! The simple straight line quilting along each seam made every single one of the pinwheels POP and it plays quite well with the more modern design.

The quilt top is simply stunning - even more so in person ;)

The back mimics the pinwheels from the front and features Starling from Alexander Henry Fabrics:

Together the quilt is so light and airy. The colors reminds me of the perfect spring day :)

The binding is from the Peaceful Planet line and hand binding on the back.

Honestly, I love the results but didn't quite enjoy the quilting. The quilt was HUGE (compared to some of the smaller quilts I've been working on) so to maneuver and constantly changing quilting directions to accommodate for all the straight seams along each pin in the pinwheels was a nightmare. I didn't keep track of time (or else I'll never quilt again!) but I would guess it took about 10 hours...give or take. By the end of all the quilting and hand binding I was exhausted. However, I am happy with the results and at the end of the day, that is all that matters :).
