Not so good about last week's goals. See for yourself...
I'm going to put the Scrappy Pillow #2 on the back burner for now. I guess I just don't have to desire to finish the second one...
I had a change of plans for the Borders and Stripes quilt so I'm spending the next couple of days taking out the machine quilting - not that much was done - and doing something a little different instead. I'll follow up with a post to show you what I mean.
Instead of organizing just my sewing TABLE, there's been a switch of plans and now my very nice husband has volunteered to build a bunch of shelving in the closet. More room, different organization tactic :).
So here are my goals for this week:
Happy Quilting :).

Weekly Goals June 14 - June 20
Not bad results from last week. All except the Scrappy Pillow #2 was complete. I have no desire at this point to finish it, but I will keep it on the last 'cause I really don't want the 'unfinished' projects pile to development. Slippery slope and all that good stuff.
Here's the list for this week:
Notice I didn't put Sweet Blocks on the list this week. But I will finish pressing it then I will STAY AWAY from it until next week. I really need to crack down on:
- Organization
- Finishing Projects
- ORGANIZATION!

Weekly Goals June 7 - June 13
Results from last week:
Not bad considering I wasn't anywhere near my sewing room for 3 days during this time. BTW, Austin TX was hot and balmy. I even experienced an early summer thunderstorm accompanied with massive rainfall. Had a great time despite the weather though - great food, great company, great times :)!
Here's my goals for this coming week. Should be a productive one....emphasis on the SHOULD.

Weekly Goals May 31 - June 6
This week's Weekly Goals...

Haha notice that about half of the goals from this week are finishing up goals from last week. Life - kids, the 9-5 job and everything else came in the way. Most of the distractions - besides the job - were a consequence of beautiful pre-summer weather. After a whole week of wet yucky weather we finally got some nice weather the last few days - just in time for a beautiful Memorial day weekend. The kids - and us - wanted to be outside all the time...and we did.
Well anyways - so I'm a little behind on my projects. No big deal :) - I'm my own boss at this right :P.
This week is mostly going to be finishing up projects from last week 'cause this was the results from last week:

Also another thing - I'm going to be out of town 2 days this week - a work trip to Texas. So finishing up this week' goals will be a little tricky also...

Adding to Stash & Week's Goals
http://quiltsbyq.blogspot.com/2010/05/scrappy-pillow-1-done.htmlA pretty uneventful addition to The Stash the week. I didn't have time to order online so I just picked up some solid colors at the box store - Joanne fabrics.

Like I said nothing eventful. They're just some solid Moda cotton that I picked up while out running other errands. I'll have to make up for such a bland addition to The Stash this coming week :). FYI I'm not a big fan of Joanne's for print fabrics. They're good when you're in a crunch and need something simple - like the solid colors.
So, along with some other Weekly Goals for the upcoming week I will HAVE to had additions to The Stash as one of the goals.

It's going to be a little tricky trying to complete the upcoming goals because I'll be out of town and unable to do any actual quilting for 2 days this week. Maybe quilt like mad for the days that I am home and work on designing the next projects while I'm on the road?? I decided to put the design of my kitchen floormats in the goals for this coming week so I have something to work on while away from my sewing room.
The results of last weeks goals:

A little bit better than the previous week's results. Notice that I didn't even bother putting Patchy Pillow #2 on this coming week's goal. I know I will be able to work on it....or have the desire at this point. I guess I'm just really enjoining Patchy Pillow #1 and don't really have the need for two of them at this point. I'll try to finish up very soon though. As much as it does happen, I try not to have unfinished projects floating for too long. The longer it gets, the lesser the chance of it being finished.

Unplanned Weekend Activities
It was suppose to be my Friday off work, followed by a weekend of quilt making...but life always have a way of creating distractions.
It turned out that I did have to go into work Friday, and it was a much longer work day than usual. Needless to say I didn't have a chance to do much that Friday night. Saturday I didn't that it was about time my older son got some new clothes - haha though his pants do make wonderful capris :P. But nonetheless, it was time to do some cloth shopping - for the kids and for myself and my husband. So Saturday, after a quick Farmer's Market run, we headed out to the outlets for new clothes.
Sunday was spent at my niece's 4th birthday party - HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEETIE!
So, here's the damage to my Weekly Goals last week:
I finished about half of the goals and barely started on the rest :(. Better luck next week right? Well I've updated my goals for the coming week - hopefully I'll have better luck this time around:

Weekly Goals
Since the Spring Goals post I have been thinking a lot about what I want to accomplish for this site and for my craft. Right now I try to dedicate a couple of nights during weekdays to sewing/design/blogging. This usually end up being about 4 hours during weekday nights. I rush home from work with tasks in mind and try to complete at least one of those tasks that night. This usually is a short stretch of time since I have to juggle that time with preparing dinner and cleaning up the house before my husband gets home after picking up the kids. On a good weekday night I get about 1-2 solid hour dedicated to my craft - usually 1.
On the weekends I try to squeeze in about 2-4 hours a day for crafts. It's usually the time when one of the kids are asleep or when my husband is out with the kids (ie: walks, errands, etc). It's hard to come up with a good solid block of time on the weekends since it's usually spent running errands or hanging out with the family. I wouldn't want to spend more than 2-4 hours a day on weekends on crafts anyways since this should be family time.
My long time goal is to spend more time on weekdays for my crafts and less time, or at least only NEEDED time, on the weekends. How to accomplish that goal? I'm not quite sure at this point. Financially, it's not a good time for me to quit my full time job or even go part-time and the days are NOT getting any longer :P. However, I am hoping the the first choice (quitting or working part-time) would open up in the future. For now, I am trying to get into work earlier so I could leave early and hence get to my crafts earlier. I am trying to organize my Weekly Goals at the end of each week in preparation for the next. I am trying to organize my sewing room so that I am not wasting time trying to find things or make room for things.
So, hopefully with the installment of Weekly Goals and lots and lots of organization I can design, create, and have more peace in my craft and hopefully that would transfer into a more peaceful family life also. I am working on my first installment of Weekly Goals as we speak.
Cheers to goals!
