Double smiles for a double quilt finish! I am very happy to share my 2 latest quilts. They are inspired by the It's a Big Thing collection from Moda. This project was started months ago and it is now ready for showing :)!
This quilt is all about BOY stuff. Trucks, cars, stars and the different hues of blues throughout this quilt screams BOY. I first fell in love with the trucks/cars fabric and really wanted to do a simple quilt around that fabric.
After the main fabric is picked it was easy to pulled coordinating fabrics together to create this great combo.
I used a simple along the seam-straight line quilting technique for this patchwork quilt. Keeping the lines simple and clean.
For the binding, I used a coordinating stripe fabric.
Goes well with the second quilt as well (same quilt top and binding, just a different backing print)
My 2 boys are 6 and 4 now and have big boy quilts of their own, so I will not be keeping these two quilts around the house so they are available at my little Etsy shop
